So, Been DM'ing D&D games for quite a while now. I have experience with 3.x, 4e, and even playtested Next(5e). I have a open world setting I have made and like to use. I have several distinct time periods in it.
Mists of Arcadia, back when the world had little to no magic, and the magic they had was by channeling spirits (3.X Incarnum, Chaos Magic, etc).
The Golden Tyranny, rise of the first deity, and the world had some divine magic (Druids, Clerics/Favored Souls/Paladins of Goldenza, a Chaotic Evil Deity).
The Cry of Dragons, an age when the Gods walked Arcadia, divine magic is everywhere (All divine magic using classes, except Archivist).
The Chaos Wars, a time period marked by the invention of arcane magic and the arrogance of the divine, the gods begin to wage war between themselves, dragons are extinct, and a new deity arises (All divine and arcane classes, except Wizard and Archivst).
World of Arcadia, 3000 years after the wars have ended, magic in all forms run rampant, many have forgotten their past, the civilized people stay bound to their great cities, utilizing teleportation circles to travel between them, the Gods are no longer among the people and the last remaining dragon has stayed in his tower, where arcane magic is taught, a cult has developed psionics(No magic restrictions).
Only stipulation, if we are using 3.X, Sorcerers are nonexistent, instead replaced by altered Chaos Mages (3rd party material)
All limitations previously described are due to story reasons, I have nothing against any class. If you want to play a caster with a workable power source (Warlock, Dragon Shaman, Spirit Shaman, Sha'ir), just talk with me about how they'd get the power in such a setting.
So, I just need to know a few things before running it.
A. Which edition would you prefer? (I'll admit I'm biased towards 3.X, but I'm fine with any)
B. Which time period?
C. Misc Info, feel free to ask questions.
