This is perfect I just started working on a character that I am having trouble with. It's 3.5e and the DM has stated that things such as power attack do not work on a Warlock's Eldritch Glaive, but does work with eldritch claws.
The character is a gestalt Human Paladin of Freedom/Warlock starting at lv 5. I would like something that can use the Warlock's long duration abilities, and a paladin's BaB and Smite abilities. (Smite does work with melee attacks from any eldritch melee shape)

Warlock of Freedom, neat. What books are allowed or banned? General idea of what you want the character to do?

All books are allowed, including Dragon Magazine
General Idea for what I want the character to do? I would like to be able to make use of the Paladin's BaB with the Warlocks abilities, so a melee focused build is what I'm leaning towards. With the possibility of Hellfire Warlock (The DR 1 vs ability damage from the binders does not interfere with Hellfire Warlock, per DM call) for extra DPR.

What about the Shape Soulmeld (Strongheart vest) feat instead of binder. It doesn't give you Ability DR, it just regenerates it every turn, in comparison to the vest. With your set up, you could easily do a WIS/CHA Based build. Intuitive attack would let you use Wis to attack instead of Str while relying on your Claws. Serenity makes all paladin abilities key off of Wis (If you want to have Wis as your highest stat). You are able to full attack with your claws, and with the right set-up deal quite a bit of damage.
With your Least Invocations, I recommend one of the Eldritch Essences (Making your opponent shaken or nauseous with your melee attacks can win you battles), with a side order of See the Unseen and Hideous Blow(trade this for Baleful Utterance once you get Eldritch Claw). Once you get Lesser Invocations though it starts getting tougher. While both Hellrime and Brimstone Blast could get you into Hellfire Warlock and Brimstone deals more damage, I recommend Hellrime. Your build is going to be very shy on dealing ability damage/penalties and a Dex Penalty is one of the most useful (-2 AC, Dragons have Dex as their lowest stat at 10). Other than that, fell flight is a must have for needed mobility. For the other two you'll get, I recommend Voracious Dispelling and Curse Despair. At-will dispel magic that hurts the target, awesome. Remember the dragons only have 10 Dex thing? Use Curse of Despair and then Hellrime Claw them. Welcome to not moving land, population: Dragon. Looking over the "Greater" ones I see Vitriolic Blast (Acid damage+Damage over time), Wall of Perilous Fire (Decent Battlefield Control), and Devour Magic (Replace Voracious Dispelling with Walk Unseen at this point) Now the "Dark" ones: Dark Discorperation is quite nice, and you can end it with Devour Magic when you are done with it. Retributive Invisibility, it's at-will Greater invisibility and if it's dispelled (Even by Devour Magic) you explode with sonic energy. And Lastly, Dark Foresight. You can't be surprised or flatfooted, +2 to AC and Reflex, know what to do to be safe and know when you are targeted by spells, ranged attacks, sneak attack, etc. Or it can be used on another person, but they don;t get the AC or Reflex bonus.
Recommended Build: Paladin 1|Warlock 1 Feat: Intuitive Attack ACF: Dragonscale Husk (bonus to your Armor Class equal to 6 + 1/3 your levels of classes that grant heavy armor prof, can't wear armor) Paladin 2|Warlock 2 Overwhelming Attack Chaos Monk 1|Warlock 3 Feat: Acetic Knight, Bonus Monk Feat: Power Attack (+Wis to AC) Paladin 3 |Warlock 4 Paladin 4|Warlock 5 Paladin 5|Warlock 6 Feat: Eldritch Claw -Dndtools just went down, I'll continue when it's back up-
