Hey everyone, I've been looking for a system to accommodate various genres of RP (D20 modern for modern settings, 3.5/PF for fantasy adventure, etc) and there are a few where I cannot find a decent system for the life of me. There are 3 genres I would like suggestions from people who have either played or heard of a system that accommodates them, preferably with limited homebrew.
The three genres I'm looking to address are: 1. Mecha (Something akin to Gundam or IS) 2. Sci-Fi (Something besides Starwars d20) 3. Heavy Realism (I'm not saying no fantasy elements, but more realistic in what a PC can do. For example weapons take years of practice to learn and master, but in 3.5 a fighter knows almost every weapon available within 16 years of life, so something that maybe has a healthy balance between the two)

@ Rallen: I have not played Cthulutech however looking through it, it does seem interesting and I'm most certainly going to give it a shot.
@ Fawkes: Do you know any systems that use the 40k universe? If you do I would be very interested in that as that's a universe I have tried to find a system for.
@ Zalgo: I did not know wikipedia had a list so you have my thanks for bringing that to my attention

Isn't dark heresy a game in the 40k setting or isn't that what you meant by system. Also rogue trader is a tabletop game in the 40k setting but I'm not sure if it's the kind of game your looking for.

I did not know about Dark Heresy and it seems to fit the bill of what I was looking for.

I heard some people didn't really like the system, I don't know why I'm no expert I just know it because some youtuber I follow participated in a game.

GURPS is a ruleset that can be adapted to pretty much anything, as long as you got the patience to read up/make up stuff for it. If it's one thing it does very well, it's the realism part. You've got bleeding rules, dismemberment, rules for training skills (200 hours of practice = +1 to skill etc etc) However, every single rule is "optional", so you pretty much just pick the rules you think fit the particular setting you want. My system of choice. =O
