Because no one seems to be taking the initiative I will just start out with creating a group. I'm a total newbie myself just like most people interested in this forum, so I think it would be smart to have an experienced DM. I'm also not a native speaker, but I have some American friends and they never seem to complain I thought I would just mention it before people make a problem because of it. If there are people interested just reply to this thread I think I would be mostly interested in a traditional D&D game, what version and setting is up to the DM.

I'm also interested in trying a traditional D&D game, but the problem stems from us not having a DM at all. As I type this I made a roll20 account and one of the first things I found is a promising looking group called 'By Noobs For Noobs' and it still has four open slots to it. I haven't used the roll20 system yet but it seems like a good place to get started. It also seems like character creation is something that needs to be taken care of well before the game starts, but I have no idea how to go about that, so a guide on character creation would be helpful as well.

I'm pretty sure some DM will show up. My problem with roll20 is that I think the groups created on there will fall apart relatively quickly.

I'm in for a game if there's a better DM than me to set one up. Gravelork, you have the books, so I imagine you would do a better job of it than I, but if you want to play rather than DM then we can see about finding another.

Naa i have never Dmed of played before so i would know what to do, maybe after some game ill have a better idea of the role of a DM, but for the moment i'm definitely not ready to DM, id rather play and learn all the rules.

Depending on the system you guys are interested in i could run a game, i'm fairly experienced in several systems so i should be able to help out pretty easily. My favorite system (and the one i recommend for new players) is Pathfinder, which is just a better version of 3.5 DnD (More balance and cleaner rules), but i should also be able to do 3.5 and 4.0.

Sounds good, Iyonvega, i mean for me personal i am not looking for and super complex campaign just a quick campaign to teach me the basic ropes such as attacking, movement, etc as i have little knowledge of any of this.
i'm sure many other would appreciate this kinda of game

I'm up for playing if there is a party being put together. Totally new to this, but I'm a fast learner

I'd be interested in playing. Would be taking my d&d virginity. Though i am a versed gamer in other types and im pre quick so i think i could pick it up fast if there were experienced players who could help me out.

gravelork Unfortunately i just took a look at the roll20 system that was recommended to use, and i'm probably gonna have to redact my offer until i can actually figure out how this thing works because holy crap will not knowing how that thing works bog down a game faster than taressque would kill a level one party
