I'd love to join in as well, i prefer Pathfinder to 3.5 but i'm really up for either. I have Skype and two way sound so that shouldn't be a problem.

Anoroath, the trick is to only read the parts you actually need. That, and you don't have to know everything about everything before it starts out, because someone can always catch something you miss.

All of the DnD I've played has been 4e, but I should be able to pick 3.5 up without too much trouble. I'll have a read of the pdf (thank you so much for that, by the way) and start coming up with a character.

How much money do we start with? (Trying to use a character generator for D&D 3.5)

anoroath Assuming the game is starting at level 1 its based on class, check the index for starting wealth-by class, otherwise its by level in which case you should check the index for starting wealth-by level.

Don't you think we should pick a day of the week, too? I can do anything before six on Saturdays, and most other days of the week are open. Six and after on Saturdays are reserved for my current Pathfinder game.

So if I'm reading this right, we now have four players and a DM, which I think is perfect. brownbear96, when do you think you'd want to try for a first session?

I have lectures to attend for the next few weeks, so Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays are no good for me during the day. Evenings (after 6pm GMT, or 1pm EST) and weekends should be completely free, though.

I usually have a pretty lax schedule, but with everyone here, it sounds like Saturday and Sundays would be ideal. Personally, I'd prefer Saturday nights. Also, I think we should spend our first session simply preparing. I think it would be simpler to read it, then verbally explain, as opposed to having everyone read the books. Also, starting gold: Barbarian 4d4 × 10 (100 gp) Paladin 6d4 × 10 (150 gp) Bard 4d4 × 10 (100 gp) Ranger 6d4 × 10 (150 gp) Cleric 5d4 × 10 (125 gp) Rogue 5d4 × 10 (125 gp) Druid 2d4 × 10 (50 gp) Sorcerer 3d4 × 10 (75 gp) Fighter 6d4 × 10 (150 gp) Wizard 3d4 × 10 (75 gp) Monk 5d4 (12 gp, 5 sp)

Saturday nights are fine for me; don't even have to be up in the morning, so there's no need to worry about time zone problems on my end.

So, using the character generator, I've managed to create a character, or at least the numbers and stuff like that. When were you thinking of hosting the first session?

I take it, then, that you'd like us to create characters in advance? Scout's honour on the rolls.
